MONMOUTHSHIRE
SCOOPS WINE NOMINATIONS
Thursday, 23rd November 2006
The Crown at Whitebrook is delighted to have been
nominated by Conde Naste Johansens Champagne Taittinger's
4th Annual Wine List Awards. We were proud to be
selected as one of three finalists out of nearly
90 contenders.
The judges found it an extremely difficult task
to separate the top three, with a spokesperson for
Johansens saying “The entries this year were
the largest we have received to date, and highlight
the diversity and excellence of Johansens members
in this area.”
The selection of wines at The Crown at Whitebrook
was described as “very well organised”,
with one judge commenting that “(reading)
the wine list is like taking a wine tour”.
We would like to congratulate The Bell at Skenfrith,
also situated in Monmouthshire, for scooping the
award.
Michael Obray, General Manager of The Crown said
“We strive to provide customers with the very
highest quality, so this nomination is testament
to the dedication and hard work of the team who
have built and developed our wine list over a number
of years. To have been nominated for the second
year running is a great achievement. We will continue
to strive to provide the selection of wines that
our customers expect and look forward to entering
next year's competition.” |
